A2: I graduated in journalism and worked in the Sales and Marketing industry within the tourism sector for several years before reaching a pivotal moment in my career. I had always desired overseas exposure and decided to volunteer in Africa for a year. This life-changing experience led me to consider different career paths. While discussing my career aspirations with recruiters, I was advised to explore opportunities in the recruitment agency field.
I began my journey in recruitment by supporting the team in candidate sourcing, screening, and managing the entire job application process. Through hard work and dedication, I received several promotions and transitioned into a 360-degree recruiter role, handling both client-side and candidate work. In recent years, I have moved into a managerial position where I focus on team building, training, coaching, and nurturing relationships with key clients.
Q3: What are the responsibilities of your current role, and what do you enjoy about it?
A3: This role is people-facing, requiring frequent interactions and conversations with individuals on a daily basis. Alongside the interpersonal aspect, the job is sales-driven, with a primary responsibility of generating revenue.
I find great satisfaction in matching the perfect candidate to niche roles. I particularly enjoy supporting clients and candidates throughout their search journey, witnessing their success in their careers.

A4: Transitioning from Sales & Marketing to HR recruitment early in my career was not an easy decision, especially after having established myself in Sales & Marketing. Taking a break from the corporate world to gain professional knowledge and experience through overseas volunteer work was pivotal. This break provided me with the space to reflect on my career trajectory before making significant decisions.
Starting from the bottom in recruitment taught me humility and emphasized the importance of lifelong learning. The experience was challenging yet immensely rewarding.
